FollowFriday Helper makes getting that #ff out easier each week if you don’t have someone that comes right to mind.
How to use FollowFriday Helper
While it is still “very much a beta,” the tool seems to work very well. You simply use the Twitter OAuth to attach it to your account and sign in through there. Then you click one of the various links to go to “The App.”
It takes you to the FollowFriday Helper screen where you can sort the twitterers that you interact with based on Twitter mentions, Twitter retweets, your retweets, favorites and recommendations received on Twitter.
For Multiple people you want to give a shout out to
You are able to assign one of several friendly hashtags to a Tweet you build in their interface and start adding names to your tweet with one click. You can scroll through your list and get them all done at once!
For sending out a Solo recommendation
If you see someone that needs or deserves that special attention, then you can click on the “Recommend” link and it pops up to a screen to use the same interface and give the person a more detailed recommendation as a tweet.
While I have yet to verify the accuracy of the metrics involved in FollowFriday Helper, it appears to change each time I look at it and I do remember most of the mentions happening. So, I don’t think it can be that far off. As I would say with any tools for Twitter: Nothing is better than pure human interaction! So, if you get in a jam and can’t think of anyone at that point to show appreciation to, give this a shot.
